What Is Sandhyā-Vandanam?
Section titled “What Is Sandhyā-Vandanam?”- Sandhyā literally means “junction”—the sacred twilight periods of dawn (prātaḥ-), noon (madhyāhna), and dusk (sāyam)
- Vandanam denotes reverence or meditation—together, timing and devotion merge as spiritual practice.
- Sandhyā-Vandanam is a Nitya-karma—an obligatory daily ritual prescribed by the Dharmaśāstra for all Dvijas after Upanayana (thread ceremony).
